Have found however that the update to build 9.1.2 strips out all the Acrobat icon caches and kills the thumbnail previews, often displaying a blank page for the icon.

PDF print-engine also working without any hiccups, as does Distiller. After original install, automatically downloads the 圆4 component add-on, opens and prints just fine both locally and from both Firefox 3.5 and IE8, no crashes what-so-ever. With earlier builds of Vista had to go so far as logging in as Admin (NOT simply an account with admin priveleges, but the actual Admin account which is actually disabled by default, and needs to be turned via Local Security Policy snap-in (not available on "home" versions of Vista))Īm now primarilly running Win7 RC1 圆4, and really have had zero issues on both notebooks, using the original install. In Vista, Acrobat 9 Pro tended to go logger-heads with the UAC, and thus had to be installed as Admin. Some possible pertinent information, but still no answers. I found the post below on one of the forums.

Tried installing a trial version of Acrobat 9 Pro. Tried it all, still have the same problem. We tried uninstalling, reinstalling by running the setup file as Administrator, creating a new user with Admin rights and installing from there, and finally removing all Adobe products, running registry cleaners and running something from Adobe called the CS4 cleaner. My other computer is Vista 32-bit, and it installed and works fine there, which makes me think it's something with 64 bit.īack on the 64-bit computer I was on the phone with Adobe for over an hour, and we did not come up with a solution. I've found this same problem on other fourms, so it's happened a lot. But then if I click close on the Preferences window, the program closes. I can click Accept, and things are still okay. Now, during that few seconds I can go to the Acrobat menu and open something, like Preferences. There's a few seconds delay before this happens. After installation when I open it, the License Agreement pops up, and when I click Accept, the program closes. I'm having the same problem - I bought the full program, licensed copy of Acrobat 9 Standard, Vista 64 bit, and the program installed fine.
